While editing through the Rio en Medio fire restoration footage, I got a little tickled at an accidental backward play of Cameron Webber (with AWF – Albuquerque Wildlife Federation) teaching others how to build a Media Luna, you can see below, that’s some skills!
Seriously though, lots of skills were out that weekend with all the hard working volunteers from AWF and beyond as Steve Vrooman and the rest of the folks at Keystone Restoration Ecology guided the finishing low tech handwork to be done in the recently burned watershed.
Mike Keso (with NM’s Burned Area Emergency Response team) and Abe Franklin (with NM Environment Department Surface Water Quality Bureau) also took part, observing the constellations of wood, rock and earthen structures done by both hand and machine in the river channel and along the feeding tributaries.
