We received so many wonderful comments and high fives on our initial reach out to the first circle of folks who know Bill Zeedyk and his work over the years.
Many of you posted on social media, shared on other platforms and we were able to raise almost $10,000 to help with the last of our production shooting needs. Thank you so very much for spreading the word, along with the water.
A few of the comments we received:
“Bill is both hero and mentor to many of us working to restore healthy hydrologic function to eroded aridlands of the Western US. He has been called the water whisperer. I don’t know exactly what he’s saying to water, but what I get from him is HOPE.”
LINDA POOLE, Moderator, SOIL FOR WATER FORUM, Montana
“It’s always been difficult for me to capture/explain why Bill’s approach to land health and stewardship is critical to our future. Just with the preview, I’ve seen how the film accomplishes this. Renea is making a work that is ESSENTIAL!”
CAMERON WEBBER, President, Albuquerque Wildlife Federation
“It moved me to tears and reminded me how lucky we who volunteer with WRV have been to work with and LEARN from Bill.”
Doug Swartz, Volunteer, Wildlands Restoration Volunteers, Fort Collins, Colorado
“This is the first I have heard about this project and I am super EXCITED about it. I have worked with Bill in the San Luis Valley of Colorado… and one of the coordinators of the Monte Vista Crane Festival and I would like to show this movie at our festival, perhaps the 2023 festival. Our Valley hosts the entire population of the Rocky Mtn Greater Sandhill Crane (20,000) for several weeks on both their spring and fall migration. Over the past couple of years the crane festival committee has focused our messaging to attendees around water, wetlands, agriculture and private lands conservation. This documentary will complement our messaging very well.”
Jenny Nehring, Biologist, Wetland Dynamics, LLC (Cary Aloia thanks as well!), Colorado
“This fantastic work and I hope it gets wide distribution. I had the honor to work with Bill for over a decade in the Forest Service and we have remained friends since that time. Where I live in Prescott, AZ we are going to use Bills methods to RESTORE a heavily used trail system using one-rock dams, a Zuni Bowl, and other techniques. I plan to show this video to out land management committee next month.”
Russ LaFayette, US Forest Service, Retired, Prescott, Arizona
